Community Employment Training Series

Trainings are focused on competencies needed to provide employment services using best practices, including but not limited to:

  • Self-employment
  • Systematic Instruction
  • Cultural Diversity
  • Benefits Planning
  • History of Supported Employment

Where is the Training?

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Iowa APSE has transitioned our spring and summer offerings to be online!

You will still receive the Foundations self-study as part of this course, which is required for either:

  • Just the Job Development Certificate
  • Just the Job Coaching Certificate
  • Both: Earn the ACRE Certificate

Online Training Summer 2020

Job Coaching:

June 1-12 OR August 3-14, 2020

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (9-11 am)

Job Development:

June 15-19 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (9-11 am) PLUS simulation on June 22 and 23 from 9-11 am and 1-3 pm.


July 20-24 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (9-11 am) PLUS simulation on July 27 and 28 from 9-11 am and 1-3 pm

What does the training include?


When you complete the Foundations Self-Study and all required activities, Job Development and all activities, and Job Coaching and all required activities you will be awarded an ACRE Certificate of Completion.

What is the cost of the training?

For APSE Members, both trainings are $225. Just Job Development $140; just job coaching $140. For non-members, both trainings are $325, just job development is $200 and just job coaching is $200.

Not an Iowa APSE member yet? Join APSE at a discounted rate of $90 for your first year (make sure you email Iowa APSE for the discount code!), pay the APSE member rate for training.
