Advocating for Social Change to Help Those with Disabilities
Iowa APSE is run by a volunteer board of providers, advocates, self-advocates, and state partners from across Iowa. The executive team guides the organization, and committees lead our work on policy, training, marketing, membership, and special projects.
The board meets in person every other month. Members and partners are always welcome to help. Volunteers support our trainings, the annual conference, and membership outreach.

What does serving on the Iowa APSE Board Involve?
Serving on the Iowa APSE Board is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while connecting with others who are passionate about Employment First.
What to Expect
- Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per month.
- Responsibilities: Attend board meetings, participate in committees, and support advocacy initiatives.
- Opportunities: Get involved in APSE Day on the Hill, the annual conference, and national initiatives.
- Benefits: Develop leadership skills, expand your professional network, and receive waived registration fees for Iowa APSE conferences and select board-related events.
Board members are also expected to maintain an active APSE membership and support the organization’s mission and values.
