Assistive technology can help Iowans with disabilities get to work!

This four-hour training will include the fundamentals of AT and Assessment, as well as provide a hands-on demonstration of over 25 devices that may support individuals with disabilities in their employment journey. This will be helpful for all direct level staff, whether supporting individuals in employment, community-based residential supports, or other community-based settings!

A 4-hour training aimed to build entry-level understanding of various assistive technology devices. Each participant will create a do-it-yourself version of an AT device! See hands-on demonstrations of 25+ devices. Cost per participant is $60. Please register below.

Participants will leave with the renewed passion and confidence to support individuals in recognizing opportunities for AT use, pre-assessing for device implementation, and identifying resources for loaning and obtaining devices. Case scenarios will be utilized to practice skills and individual support will be available to ensure each participant is prepared for AT questions.
